What is Steam Inventory Helper (SIH)? An Overview of the Main Features of the Extension

Steam Inventory Helper (SIH)

Steam Inventory Helper (SIH) is a browser extension for Steam that significantly expands and enhances its functionality. Many mistakenly believe it’s only suitable for traders or people interested in items, but that’s not the case. The extension saves a lot of time and provides vast amounts of information without leaving the Steam page, simplifying the process even for casual users. Want to learn all about a product in Steam? Just install the extension and view everything directly on the item or game page. Want most processes to be automated based on specific parameters? Simply install SIH in your browser!

A Breakdown of the Most Popular Features: What Do They Do and Why Are They Useful?

Inventory Settings

Let’s go over the main settings that are most frequently used. Most of them are self-explanatory and do exactly what their descriptions suggest, but we’ll delve a bit deeper into some:

  • Buy Missing Items – This setting is useful for completing sets (for example, for Dota 2 or Steam trading cards). If you own an item that is part of a set, SIH will offer to purchase the missing items to complete it. No more jumping between marketplace pages; everything is done with a single button.
Items eng
  • Quick Sell – Allows you to list an item for sale at the lowest market price. The best part is that it calculates the price automatically and sets it slightly lower to push your item to the top. In the “Price Difference for Quick Sell” section, you can adjust the price. The default value of 0.01 means that if the lowest price on the market is $1, you will automatically list your item for $0.99. No need to manually check item pages, monitor prices, or go through multiple confirmations. Everything is done with one button directly from your inventory.
  • Instant Sell – Steam users can offer their own prices for items, and they are usually lower than those already listed on the market. If you’re not willing to wait for a buyer and want to instantly sell your item and add funds to your Steam balance, this feature will find the best buyer’s offer and sell your item at that price. This feature is handy, but we don’t recommend using it for expensive items, as the difference between the market price and the buyer’s offer can be significant. For cheaper items with lots of offers, this function is invaluable.
Listing
  • Select All – Allows you to select all items in your inventory or all listings for sale.
  • Inventory Value – Shows the value of your inventory, your friends’ inventories, or public profiles. It separates the value of items from different games.
  • Show Float Function – One of the most useful features, it allows you to see an item’s Float value without launching the game. This saves time and lets you purchase the right item without inspecting each CS
    listing.
  • Display Extra Rarity Borders in CS2 – Highlights the item’s border with colors indicating its quality, such as “Mil-Spec”, “Restricted”, “Classified”, etc.
  • Show Item Phases – Useful for items like “Wave” skins, it shows which colors dominate in each phase.
  • Show Price Difference Warning in Mass Sale Window – If you list an item for sale or request a purchase at a price significantly above or below market value, SIH will alert you. For example, if you overprice an item, it will warn you that it might not sell quickly or your purchase request might not be fulfilled.

Listings and Market Settings

Most of this is straightforward, but let’s clarify some details:

  • Quick Buy – When purchasing through this button, there won’t be a confirmation popup with “Are you sure?” This helps you beat competitors and purchase skins faster.
  • Show Currencies – A helpful feature for users in different Steam regions. If your Steam account is registered in Kazakhstan and prices are displayed in tenge, you can instantly convert them to dollars or rubles.

Trade Offer Settings

Let’s focus on one key feature here:

  • Automatically Accept “Gift” Trade Offers – This setting helps you instantly accept items sent as gifts, which don’t take anything from your inventory. It’s useful when purchasing items from markets.

Friend Request Settings

This helps manage the flood of friend requests. If your inventory is worth more than $100, unknown users will periodically try to add you. In this case, it’s recommended to enable “Private Profile” to prevent people with closed profiles from disturbing you. Enabling the “Level 10 and above” option helps block requests from empty or low-level accounts.

Inventory Page with the Extension Enabled

Here’s what your inventory page looks like with the extension enabled. You can:

  • Instantly see the total value of your inventory and, in the settings, check its value across different markets.
  • Easily switch between inventories for different games using a convenient toggle on the left.
  • See item prices immediately without having to click on each one individually.
  • Check the price of applied stickers, how many of the item have sold in the last 24 hours, and more detailed information.
  • On the right, check the item’s price across the most popular marketplaces.

Item Purchase Page with the Extension Enabled

Buy page eng

The changes are obvious, but let’s go through them in more detail:

  • Information about applied stickers and their individual prices.
  • The number of similar items sold over the past day/week/month.
  • The ability to switch between item conditions without leaving the page.
  • Information about item prices across different markets.

Scroll down to the listings with the same item. These settings allow you to find the perfect item for your request in just two clicks. To view additional information, click the “Get skin data” button.

Buy page 2 eng
  • The Float value is shown as a numerical value (e.g., “0.10123124”). The lower the number, the cleaner the item in that condition. Use the special filter to find the cleanest or dirtiest item.
  • The “Search by Paint Seed and Float” button lets you enter the desired values if you know them, for example, rare patterns, which are easy to find online. Looking for an AWP | Paw with a golden cat pattern? Enter the necessary pattern value, and if it’s on the market, it will appear in the list.
  • A handy filter for sticker prices. Pro tip: use it on older skins, where you might find stickers worth hundreds or thousands of dollars. The seller might not even realize they have such a treasure in their inventory!

Transaction History Page

History Steam eng

In addition to convenient tracking of what’s happened to an item (bought or sold), this page offers a useful “Check Price” feature. With it, you can track how the price has changed since the last transaction with that item. But be careful with checking old sales history—prices of skins have skyrocketed over the past 12 years 🙂
