An important change in the indexing method in SIH App

Let’s take SSteam500 as an example.

SIH & STEAM 500 (CS:GO) is an index of the Steam marketplace (hereinafter referred to as the “Steam MP”). It includes the 500 most popular CS:GO items with the highest number of sales over the past month on the Steam MP. We calculate the index by multiplying the sum of the prices of each item on the Steam MP by their weight (number of sales per week on the Steam MP)

The disadvantage was that we included the 500 most popular items by number of sales in the index. Only afterwards, within the index, did we take their “weight” into account. And this led to the fact that the index was covering only a spectrum of highly liquid but cheap items. Because for the most part, the index consisted of cases, stickers and cheap skins.

Presently, the new method immediately counts the “weight” and add the 500 most “heavy” items to the index. For example: $1case with 1000 sales in 7 days will have equally the same “weight” as a $1000 knife with 1 sale in 7 days.

Therefore, the index consists of completely different price groups and it is more objective in showing market movements . Trades with will become even easier with this analytical information from SIH App.
